Zorah
The estate Zorah of 40 hectares is located in the Vayots Dzor region, between 1400m and 1600m altitude, in the foothills of Mount Ararat, and close to the oldest identified winery identified to date, dating back to 6,100 years BC.

It was in the heart of this well-known valley, with its great potential, that Zorik Gharibian, Armenian and child of the country, decided in 2006 to found Domaine Zorah, near the village of Rind. The Zorah vineyard is run according to the principles of organic farming. It mainly features grape varieties endemic to this region, the cradle of wine, and not grafted: Areni for red wines, Voskèak and Garandmak for white wines. Indeed, the Vayots Dzor region has never been affected by phylloxera, thanks to its poor sand and limestone soils, which make it possible to plant free-standing vines.

The wines are fermented with indigenous yeasts and generally aged in large containers for better integration of the wood, as well as in amphorae. Zorik Gharibian has succeeded in sublimating the potential of this region through Zorah.

"A 100% Aréni Noir vintage, an ancestral and emblematic Armenian grape variety, aged in Karas amphorae!"

This cuvée is made from 100% Aréni Noir, a native grape variety that has never been grafted and is a true emblem of Armenian viticulture: this variety has been cultivated for over 6,000 years and comes from the same gorge where the world's oldest wine cellar was discovered (4100 BC). It is also traditionally aged for 12 months in "Karas", typical Armenian amphorae.

"Two native grape varieties that have been present in Armenia for millennia, taste a dash of history!"

This white wine from another era features two native Armenian grape varieties: Voskèat, "golden berry" (Voski: gold & Hatik: berry), considered the king of grapes in Armenia, and Garandmak, one of the most popular. The wine opens with flavors of white orchard fruits: peach, apricot, complemented by herbaceous and floral notes. Perfectly balanced, it develops on the vibrant acidity typical of these grape varieties, and is unfailingly straightforward and textured on the palate, finishing with a lovely, slightly spicy aromatic persistence.
