Mâcon-Igé
The Mâcon-Igé PDO appellation area adjoins the Mâcon-Azé appellation to the north, while to the south its boundaries coincide with those of the village of Verzé and the Mâcon-Verzé geographical denomination. The region's main cooperative wineries were established in this valley between 1920 and 1930.
Since the 2005 decree, the name Mâcon followed by Igé has been used to designate white, red and rosé wines from the delimited area within the village of Igé alone.
Area in production (average between 2016 and 2018): Whites: 45 ha Reds: 13 ha.
Grape varieties used: Chardonnay for whites, Gamay for reds and rosés.
White wines tend to be aromatic, sunny and supple.
The reds offer aromatic opulence and fleshy mouthfeel.

immediate pleasure

From the beautiful limestone terroir of Igé, this confidential newcomer is a beautiful deep yellow gold. The white Mâcon-Igé delivers citrus zest aromas (mandarins), very fresh aromas accompanied by more floral notes. On the palate, the structure is very fruity. A wine of fruit and pleasure, vinified mainly in vats. A very pretty wine in 2019.
