Moscato d'Asti
Moscato d'Asti DOCG (Denominazione di Origine Controllata e Garantita) is an Italian denomination from the Piedmont region, recognized since November 14, 1977. This typical Piedmontese wine was already being produced in these two areas in 1200. Only white wines harvested within the production area defined by decree are entitled to DOCG status. The authorized Moscato d'Asti vineyards are located in the provinces of Cuneo, Alexandria and Asti.

The area under white Muscat vines producing Moscato d'Asti wine is around 10,000 hectares, shared between more than 6,800 growers. The production area for Moscato d'Asti wines is located on the hillsides to the right of the Tanaro in Monferrato and Langhe. The minimum total alcoholic strength by volume is 11%, with 4.5% to 6.5% alcohol contained in the wine. The wine therefore still contains sugar. Moscato d'Asti white wines are the basis of Asti spumante sparkling wine. They have a straw-yellow color of varying intensity, with aromas characteristic of muscatel, pronounced and delicate. In the Moscato d'Asti appellation, the quality of the wines produced by the Scagliola brothers is particularly noteworthy.

This lovely, slightly sparkling "Premier Baiser", 100% muscat blanc "di canelli", opens with a light, fresh nose, offering notes of white flowers and wild herbs (sage, rosemary...). Soft and delicate on the palate, with lively bubbles and a long, persistent finish. This elegant Muscat, low in alcohol (5°), is best enjoyed slightly chilled as an aperitif or with dessert.
