Malepère
The appellation Malepère is the westernmost appellation in Languedoc, established on the terraces and hillsides that run along the eponymous massif. The appellation area covers 39 municipalities. One of the distinctive features of Malepère is that it includes grape varieties from the southwest (Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon) and those from the Mediterranean, such as Grenache, Cinsault, and Cot. The appellation Malepère produces only red and rosé wines.

The climate is Mediterranean with an oceanic influence. The vineyard of Malepère is located on clay-limestone hillsides, between 100 and 300 meters above sea level.
