Tempier Estate
Domaine Tempier, founded in 1834, is owned by the Peyraud family. It is one of the few mid-19th century vineyard and family homes to have retained all its authenticity. Located in the heart of the Bandol appellation in Provence, the Domaine Tempier vineyard covers 38 hectares spread over several parcels, between sea and steep, sun-drenched slopes.

Today, Domaine Tempier is run by Xavier Ravier, who continues the tradition. The vineyard is managed biodynamically by Jean-Philippe Fourney, the vineyard manager, with the aim of harnessing the energy of the soil and natural elements to help the vines flourish. Domaine Tempier is currently in the process of obtaining certification. In the cellar, the estate has remained faithful to the tradition of maturing its AOC Bandol wines in tuns. In the heart of the vineyard, the Mourvèdre grape is the king of great red wines for ageing. The Migoua and Tourtine cuvées are the estate's two rare parcel-based cuvées.

(2020 vintage notes)
elegant
black fruits

"A must for Bandol

A pretty Bandol with a nose of black fruits, which is a pleasure to drink after 3 or 4 years. It will develop a beautiful bouquet of tertiary aromas (leather, animal, undergrowth) with a little more age. Well-balanced on the palate, with supple tannins. Medium- to full-bodied, concentrated and rich, with a long, mellow finish. This 2021 vintage is the second to be called "Lulu et Lucien", a tribute to the estate's family history.

"Reference!"

Situated on later terroirs, this southern white, made from 60% Clairette topped up with Ugni blanc, Rolle, Marsanne and Roussanne, retains a lovely freshness. Aging in casks adds length and body, and the finish continues with pleasant saline notes. All the freshness of the sea in your glass!

"A must-have!

Tempier's Bandol Rosé offers harmonious complexity and freshness. Its aromatic intensity reveals notes of red fruit and flowers, before introducing a full, round, well-structured, tannin-free palate. Enjoy with Provençal cuisine or fish à la plancha...An excellent rosé for immediate pleasure!

"Behind a fine reduction and beautiful raspberry aromas, this 2018 develops with an astonishing suavity of structure. An elegance that already makes it accessible. Of course, it will gain in complexity over the next two to three years." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF) A discreetly powerful red with finesse!

Domaine Tempier - La Tourtine 2018

94/100 RVF

velvety texture

"La Tourtine travels into a sunnier universe, with a colorful spicy relief. It needs at least two years in bottle to refine. Magnificent velvety power restrained by careful ageing to the millimeter". (Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF)

Domaine Tempier - La Migoua 2018

95/100 RVF

"La Migoua takes things to the next level with a floral and fruity trail of great refinement. The most Burgundian of the range. A surprisingly accessible 2018 in which gourmandise is not expressed to the detriment of depth." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF) A highly concentrated plot-based cuvee on a high-altitude terroir!
