Domaine Combier
The history of Domaine Combier is a journey through time, rooted in passion and family tradition. It all began in the late 1930s with Camille Combier, whose courage and vision led him to leave the Ardéchois plateau and settle in Pont de l'Isère. As early as 1970, Maurice Combier was one of the first to believe in the benefits of organic farming and respect for the soil and the life that inhabits it. A visionary and forerunner, he was among the first to adopt these innovative practices in the Crozes-Hermitage appellation. This not only demonstrates his commitment to quality and authenticity, but also his desire to preserve the environment and promote a sustainable approach to viticulture.

The Domaine Combier saga took a new turn in 1990, when Laurent Combier and his wife Ghislaine decided to take over the family business. At the time, the estate comprised 5 hectares of vines and 15 hectares of fruit orchards. Driven by a shared passion for wine, they decided to concentrate their efforts on viticulture, gradually removing fruit trees in favor of vines. Their vision is clear: to produce wines of excellence that reflect the unique terroir of Crozes Hermitage, while respecting the principles of organic farming so dear to the Combier family.

Today, with the arrival of David and Julien Combier, passion and enthusiasm continue to burn within the family business. These two young successors bring not only renewed energy, but also a modern and innovative vision, while remaining faithful to the traditional values for which Domaine Combier is renowned. Domaine Combier continues to build on its reputation for producing fine, elegant wines, appreciated by young wine lovers and connoisseurs alike, with some of the most seductive aging potential in the Rhône Valley.

"A refined, floral, seductive and extremely agile Syrah with notes of black cherry, blueberry, bacon and peppercorns. Medium-bodied, with fine-grained tannins. "Fruity, fun, fun!"

This Collines Rhodaniennes PGI was created in 2019 to compensate for a natural disaster. Since then, this entry-level wine has been convincing with its greediness, fruitiness and freshness. A "pleasure" wine par excellence, it will accompany grilled meats, aperitifs and summer salads.

"A classic blend of fruitiness, structure and smooth tannins".

"The Crozes-Hermitage Domaine Combier 2022 is frank and charming, with a ripe, structured and complex profile offering plenty of darker, almost blue fruit, lots of violet and floral nuances, ripe tannins, and a broad, expansive and forward palate. It has a little more density and concentration than the fruitier Laurent Combier, and I think it will benefit from a year or three of bottle age. This is clearly an exceptional wine in the making." "Saint Joseph Cap Nord 2020 comes from a north-facing granite parcel above Tournon. Violets and raspberries appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate shows great depth, a ripe, silky texture and a long finish. This should be a beauty to drink for the rest of the decade" (Wine Advocate 2022) A superb Saint-Joseph!
