Domaine Bastien Jolivet
Located in the historic heart of the Saint Joseph appellation in Saint-Jean de Muzols, this small family estate, which has existed for several generations, has taken a new path since 2014. At that time, after several years of training in France and abroad, notably with Stéphane Montez, Bastien decided to return to the domaine and join forces with his father. They stopped selling grapes to make their own wine. Today, the 8-hectare vineyard is planted on slopes with south/south-east exposure, and produces mainly red and white Saint Joseph. These granite terroirs, planted on stakes and mostly worked by hand, are ideal for Syrah. Bastien's new vision has enabled the domaine to showcase its hard work and determination through cuvées that are rapidly making a name for themselves. Indeed, from the outset, Bastien acquired precision and substance. Together, they strive to make the most balanced wines possible, and believe that work in the vineyard is the key. In the cellar, they work alongside the grapes, with traditional vinification in stainless steel vats, with temperature control to keep extractions under control. Maturation and malolactic fermentation are carried out in barrels. Great wines in the making.

syrah
spicy
potential

"Syrah with noble, pure fruit, sincere in its spicy and fruity notes".

"Full, dense nose. The palate has a sweet core of fruit and marked, robust tannins. It's chewy and straightforward, with a note of blue fruit coming through on the extended finish, and there's some detail under the oak that subtly creeps in on the finish. It's young and introverted, but has potential." (Jancis Robinson 2022)
