Boekenhoutskloof

Boekenhoutskloof
It was in 1776, in the heart of the Franschhoek Valley in southern South Africa, that the Boekenhoutskloof Estate took root and became one of the oldest wine-growing properties in the region. For over 200 years, the estate has been run by the same family and is named after the "Boekenhout ravine," which is home to a species of beech tree native to the Cape.

In 1993, a new era began, marking the start of a major transformation for Boekenhoutskloof, including the complete renovation of the estate and a program to plant prestigious grape varieties such as Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Grenache, Semillon, and Viognier.

Under the leadership of Marc Kent since 1996, the Boekenhoutskloof estate has flourished and is now one of South Africa's finest wine estates, working closely with Gottfried Mocke, a South African winemaker with international experience. Their meticulous and environmentally friendly work now produces wines that are the purest and most representative expressions of their terroir: simply sublime.
