Bodega Rolland
After an initial experience in Cafayate, which led to a partnership with the Etchart family (San Pedro de Yacochuya), Dany and Michel Rolland continued their consulting activities in Argentina. It was on this occasion that Michel Rolland launches the Clos de los Siete initiative, a project set up thanks to the investment of a group of Bordeaux friends. The 850-hectare estate is collectively managed and divided into individual vineyards. Each member contributes to the production of this flagship cuvée.

Until 2010, four wineries are operational on the "campo". Bodega Rolland is the last winery to be built, and becomes operational for the 2010 harvest. Here, the grapes from Miraflor, Michel Rolland's 100-hectare vineyard located on the closest edge of the Andes, at an altitude of 1,000m, are vinified.

"The Mariflor Malbec 2012 shows powerful lactic notes, aromas of ripe plums, blueberries and lots of violets. Concentrated and ripe, it develops balsamic aromas with time. Very compact on the palate, there are no gaps. Tannins are abundant, acidity is good and makes the wine well-balanced. This is a modernized classic, fermented in concrete tanks with indigenous yeasts and aged in barrels for 15 months. It will improve with time." (Wine Advocate 2015 - Robert Parker)
