Château de Pougelon
Château de Pougelon, founded in 1662, was taken over by the Descombes family, who cultivate 12 hectares of vines in the Beaujolais region, including several crus. Today, heirs to 5 generations of winegrowers who run the family estate, the siblings, Marine and Kevin, are always looking for more finesse in their cuvées, while at the same time converting to organic farming and agroforestry.

Château de Pougelon - Juliénas Beauvernay 2022
Juliénas|Red wine
3*Coup de Coeur Hachette
"On the vineyard side, 65-year-old Gamays planted on a steep slope with bluestone soil (a combination of schist and diorite). On the cellar side, the wine is vinified in whole bunches and aged for 15 months in concrete vats. The estate's ambitious choices are rewarded here with a superb, remarkably harmonious Julienas. The aromatic palette is highly complex, combining peony, cherry, licorice and spices. On the palate, the tannins are elegant and silky, asserting themselves with distinction as the tasting progresses, accompanied by a lovely freshness with mineral tones". (Le Guide Hachette 2025)
