"A blend of Grands Crus Classés at a fascinating price!
" ... This was the only single-vineyard sauvignon among our Best In Show this year - and its herbaceous freshness, purity and poise make it a great winner.... About the wine:
BEST IN SHOW DISTINCTION: Bordeaux is rarely recognized as a source of sauvignon of great value - because the varietal message in this part of the world is often obscured rather than validated by origin, and because many Bordeaux white wines are based on traditional Pessac-Léognan and Graves blends. This was the only single-varietal Sauvignon among our Best In Show wines this year - and its herbaceous freshness, purity and presence make it a clear winner. Our judges, however, felt that origin was part of its appeal - palpable through the soft grain of its lightly oak-infused aromas, as well as the vinous drive and length of its palate. At this price, don't look for complexity or concentration, but there's a class in the fruit that's rare at this level and will give sauvignon lovers much pleasure.

A Sauvignon with a very distinctive character. It's best drunk chilled to bring out some of its acidity, which has been erased by the wood ageing. It's clearly a very good q/p ratio, but in terms of quintessential grape variety, it's a long way from the Loire references.
