Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domain rated (2019 guide) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
The Despagne family has five estates and 300 hectares of vines, planted with traditional Bordeaux grape varieties. The seriousness, inventiveness and skill of the Despagne family mean that all their wines, and in particular those from their flagship estates, Tour de Mirambeau and Rauzan Despagne, could serve as a model for many a Bordeaux: always flattering, but never far from Bordeaux classicism. Here, the wines are always very harmonious.

A fine cuvée combining richness and aromatic complexity. The surprising blend is a little out of the ordinary, but it's very good!

Lack of fruit, no length, lack of fat I do not recommend

Clear color, nothing to report. Powerful woody nose, but not particularly fine. Powerful, dry, non-fruity palate. Quite long on the palate, but lacks finesse at all levels of tasting! TB for cold starters, seafood and fish, but avoid for refined dishes.

Good! Pleasant, well-balanced acidity. Easily drunk as an aperitif, with fish or goat's cheese.
