Francs Castle
Château de Francs boasts a magnificent estate with 40 hectares of vines planted on a fabulous clay-limestone terroir similar to that found on the Saint-Emilion plateau in the Bordeaux region.

The Château de Francs reds are partially hand-harvested, carefully vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats with parcel-by-parcel selection, and aged for 12 months in oak barrels, 20% of which are new. Château de Francs wines are stirred for the first 8 months before being removed from the barrels for bottling.

The wines of the Côtes de Francs have an unmistakable family resemblance: the silky, almost unctuous texture characteristic of right bank wines is almost always present. What sets them apart, and Château de Francs is no exception, is undoubtedly their very ripe notes, due to the fact that the owners of Francs are always the last to harvest. The AOC Côtes de Francs appellation is also the only one on the right bank to produce white wines, which account for 10-20% of production.

"This classic Côtes de Francs has shown flawless consistency over the years, with wines of fruity aromas and generous body, always at their best between two and five years of cellaring." (Le Grand Guide des Vins de France 2012 - Bettane & Desseauve)
