Château La Vieille Cure

La Vieille Cure Castle
Jérôme Pignard, owner of the La Vieille Cure estate since 2018, and Frédéric Labatut, who has been working the estate's vines for 32 years and is now its cellar master, have surrounded themselves with a team of wine enthusiasts to create two magnificent Fronsac wines: Château La Vieille Cure and its second wine, La Sacristie, in keeping with Bordeaux tradition. All this under the modern eye of two wine professionals: Jean-Luc Thunevin, an iconic winegrower from Saint-Émilion, and Jean-Philippe Fort, oenologist at the renowned Rolland firm.

The La Vieille Cure estate is located north of Bordeaux, 15 minutes from Fronsac, at the junction of two rivers: the Isle and the Dordogne, which provide natural irrigation for the vineyard.
Its clay-limestone soil and south-east exposure make it an exceptional terroir within the Fronsac appellation. The estate covers 35 hectares, planted with around 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, growing not far from the iconic vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, in a setting of nature and greenery.
