Château La Vieille Cure
Jérôme Pignard, owner of Domaine La Vieille Cure since 2018, and Frédéric Labatut, who has worked the estate's vines for 32 years and is now its cellar master, have surrounded themselves with a team of wine enthusiasts to give birth to two magnificent Fronsadais cuvées: Château La Vieille Cure and its second wine, La Sacristie, in the Bordeaux tradition. All this under the modern eye of two wine professionals: Jean-Luc Thunevin, the emblematic Saint-Émilion winemaker, and Jean-Philippe Fort, oenologist with the renowned Rolland firm.
Domaine La Vieille Cure is located north of Bordeaux, 15 minutes from Fronsac, at the junction of two rivers: the Isle and the Dordogne, which provide natural irrigation for the vineyards.
Its clay-limestone soil and south-east exposure make it an exceptional terroir in the Fronsac appellation. The 35-hectare estate is planted with around 80% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon, not far from the iconic vineyards of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion, in a setting of nature and greenery.
