"One glance, one sip, and you're hooked. This gem rivals the world's greatest wines!"

"Lovers of Bordeaux Blanc should snap up this gem. One glance, one sip, and you're hooked. I don't know where to start. Complete in every way, the wine opens with an explosion of orange peel, honeysuckle, lemon purée, flowers, green apples, spices, and herbs on the nose. As striking as that may sound, it's the incredible purity of the relentless waves of citrus and yellow tropical fruit that seals the deal. From there, all that remains is an electric, flawless finish that, once launched, refuses to stop. This gem rivals many of the world's great wines, and it sells for a fraction of their price. This is the best white wine ever produced by the Bernard family at Domaine de Chevalier. Don't miss it! Rated estate (2021 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About the estate:

This is a property that is admired by all, boasting a superb vineyard in a single block surrounding the château, one of the best cultivated in the Bordeaux region. Olivier Bernard is a tireless ambassador for Bordeaux wines around the world. He is also one of those who knows the value of their product most intimately, thanks to daily tastings with the countless visitors to the estate, a pioneer in welcoming the public. The whites are the most distinguished in the commune, the reds are models of Bordeaux classicism in their proportions and flavor. The latest reds are very impressive for their extra body and complexity. Beautiful nuances, tension, and energy for the white esprit-de-chevalier, which is the perfect reflection of a great wine. The 2016, 2017, and 2018 reds and whites are simply at their peak, and the estate richly deserves its 5-star rating.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Since 1983, the Bernard family has been doing everything possible to keep this beautiful estate at the forefront of the appellation. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and a vineyard that has now reached the age necessary to produce great grapes, the wines are impeccable, both white and red. The vineyard, located in one of the coolest areas of the appellation, on the edge of the Landes forest, is maintained like a garden. The white grapes are sorted with extreme care and their vinification has become considerably more sophisticated, without altering the style or class of this highly reputed wine. Chevalier embodies finesse and elegance, without compromising its aging potential.

About wine:

This family estate in Léognan is legendary for its white wine. It is a mature wine with spicy oak notes. Its youthful acidity brings out a tangy side that will soften and develop into a long-lasting wine. Best drunk from 2026 onwards.

About wine:

The Domaine de Chevalier Blanc 2021 is a dense and powerful dry white wine. Wine lovers will need to be patient, as the 2021 will need a little time to reach its peak. Today, the intensity of the wine's texture and a hint of oak are at the forefront. The 2021 is a high-quality white wine with character. I can't wait to see how it ages. 2029-2051

About wine:

A serious nose, with great depth and complexity. Delicate oak spices, chalk, meringue, lanolin, and a touch of praline/pistachio on lemon, redcurrant, and minerality. Extremely harmonious with a deliciously salty touch on the mid-palate. Medium-bodied, with a persistent but elegant and subtle finish that lasts for almost a minute. 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon. Already a pleasure to taste and drink, but will keep well for at least the next 15 years. Drink now or keep.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 96/100

About wine:

Depth and subtlety are evident from the very first whiff of the bouquet, with notes of mirabelle plums, peaches, and verbena. The woodiness is certainly noticeable, but it is primarily a supporting element, not a dominant one. Dense and salty, the wine is sapid and persistent. It owes this latter characteristic to a subtle bitterness that lengthens the finish and ensures its aging potential, along with the acidity. An elegant and harmonious wine. Now – 2041

About wine:

Bright yellow with green highlights. Very aromatic nose with freshness and aromatic depth, fragrant fruits, grape zest, fresh mandarin, peach and hints of apricot, with subtle tropical fruits in the background. The aromatic herbs are delicious, with a burst of basil and mint. On the palate, the wine is well-balanced and structured with great precision, elegance, and depth, lively acidity, rich fruit, excellent length, and great freshness. A great wine.
