A family estate that has been handed down from generation to generation for over a century, the Clos René vineyard is located in the commune of Pomerol, 40 kilometers northeast of Bordeaux, on the right bank.

In the past, the estate was mentioned on the Carte de Belleyme (1764) as "Reney". "Reney".

Today, Jean-Marie Garde, Pierre Lasserre's grandson and successor Pierre Lasserre, who brings all his care and experience to the cultivation and and vinification.

At Clos René, we've opted for integrated pest management to extract the healthiest harvests possible.

The Clos René superifice covers 12 hectares of ablo-gravelly soil on a subsoil of iron dross.

The grape varieties are 70% Merlot / 20% Cabernet Franc / 10% Malbec in the Pomerol appellation.

While it may not be the most publicized most famous of Pomerol's estates, Clos René nonetheless remains remarkable for the consistency of its vintages.
