Château de Sales
Located in Libourne, the Château de Sales is the largest property in the appellation Pomerol  with 47.6 hectares of vines compared to the average of 4.5 hectares. This family estate has been handed down from generation to generation for over 500 years. Today, Bruno de Lambert continues the family tradition, producing elegant, seductive wines in keeping with the château's image. Robert Parker regularly highlights the quality of the estate, awarding scores for every vintage since 1981. Château de Sales is a Pomerol: "above the potential that can be expected from its rank. Bravo!

Château de Sales is one of Pomerol's most architecturally beautiful estates. It has been awarded the title of "Best of Wine Tourism" in the Architecture, Parks and Gardens category. Its tasting room, cellar, bamboo grove and water mirror are all features that reveal the refinement and finesse of the estate and its wines. Located north-west of Pomerol, Château de Sales is the oldest family estate in the Gironde and the largest in its appellation. The story begins in 1464, when Bertrand de Sauvanelle rented an estate in Saint-Emilion from the preaching monks, today known as Dominicans. He then bought the vineyard, before passing it on to his descendants François and Jean, nicknamed "Sieur de Sales". They built one of the first Carthusian monasteries of the era, still used today as a château. Several centuries later, it was the women who managed the estate during the French Revolution, until they were imprisoned for fifteen months. Released after Robespierre's defeat, they returned to find the Château completely pillaged. They kept the estate going by buying back the part of the vineyard that had been sold to the church as national property, thus ensuring its prosperity. The vineyard was thus handed down from generation to generation for almost 550 years.

"2020 is the most accomplished since I've been tasting this wine! ~ Yves Beck "

"Dark purple color with violet highlights and a black core. A wine of great purity, with a refined nose of elegant fruit, ripe blackberries, cherries and plums, notes of chocolate and oriental spices, vanilla and gingerbread, with floral notes in the background, e.g. wisteria and violets. The palate is well-balanced and structured, with ripe, silky tannins, wonderful freshness and precision, fine minerality, ripe fruit and hints of licorice on the finish. Excellent, with convincing length". (Markus Del Monego 2021) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 12 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected)
