Château Sigalas Rabaud
Château Sigalas Rabaud, less than 500 m from Château d'Yquem, is owned by the Lambert family. The Rabaud estate, built around 1660, was redeveloped in 1903, when M. de Sigalas created a "jewel of terroir" combining the sunny, gravelly parcels purchased by his father forty years earlier. Six generations later, the grandchildren of the last representative of the eldest branch of the Sigalas family, the Marquise de Lambert des Granges, have the same passion for cultivating their vines and raising their wines.

Château Sigalas Rabaud comprises 14 hectares of vines, making it the smallest of the Premiers Crus Classés in 1855. The environment and respect for biodiversity are priorities at Sigalas-Rabaud. Pest management is increasingly based on precise observation. Massal selection" enables us to preserve the old plant material that contributes to the very special taste of Sigalas-Rabaud. Disbudding, leaf thinning, pruning and, above all, numerous and very precise "selections" during the harvest enable us to pick the best botrytis from fully ripe grapes.

Château Sigalas Rabaud produces a fine, fresh, elegant Sauternes, combining the structure of 85% Semillon with the charm of 15% Sauvignon. Discreet, discreet, described as an "insider's wine", pleasant to discover when young, its aromas of lime blossom and white fruit can be kept for over a century.

"One of the best in this ready-to-drink vintage!

"Sigalas Rabaud 2012 has a lovely, very pure bouquet, with scents of white peach, quince and saffron. The palate is well balanced with a syrupy attack, good weight, density and fine acidity with much more botrytis towards the finish than the Château de Malle 2012. It's not a long-ageing wine, but it's definitely worth the detour." (Vinous 2013) - Ready to enjoy, this half-bottle liquoreux will be the ideal companion for your festive meals! - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 12 half-bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

" The wine is all richness, loaded with botrytis and concentration. With its balanced acidity and dried fruit flavors, it's ripe, gorgeous and developing well, if slowly. It will be a great wine [...]" (Wine Enthusiast 2017) Delivery in wooden case for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method).

Second wine of Château Sigalas-Rabaud, Lieutenant 2009 reveals an open, expressive nose dominated by notes of white fruit, vanilla and spices. On the palate, a fine attack and an attractive acidic structure give this Sauternes its freshness. Excellent value for money!
