Château de la Greffière

Located in La Roche Vineuse, since 1585 the Château de la Greffière estate has been an integral part of the historic Mâconnais producers. 

Today, the 4th generation of the family manages Château de la Greffière in the traditional way, respecting the terroir. 

Xavier GREUZARD and Gaylord PETRILLO currently co-manage the estate with exacting standards and precision. With a modern work tool, good farming sense is the way of thinking that governs the care given to the vines and their terroirs. Vines in full bloom produce healthy, high-quality grapes, allowing their aromatic identity to shine through in gentle, simplified vinifications. 60 hectares in production provide access to a diversity of styles. 

This very hilly region of southern Burgundy is home to various appellations such as "Bourgogne Aligoté" and "Mâcon La Roche-Vineuse". Château de la Greffière works with the four Burgundy grape varieties "Chardonnay" - "Aligoté" for the whites and "Pinot noir" - "Gamay" for the reds. These varieties are not planted by chance, but are ideally suited to producing quality wines on the estate's precious terroirs. As evidenced by the various A.O.C.'s in the region, these grape varieties develop their own characteristics, offering a range of wines as different as they are elegant: "Bourgogne", "Saint Véran". Thanks to this privileged geographical location, Château de la Greffière offers no less than eight appellations.

Mad about Gamay, the managers of Château de la Greffière had the pleasure of expanding the estate at the beginning of 2019 into the Beaujolais sector with Saint Amour, where they have the ambition to be among the ambassadors of this magnificent cru.
