Domain Guillot-Broux
Committed winemakers, the Guillot family has been established in Cruzille since 1978. Jean-Gérard Guillot and his wife Jacqueline created the Domain Guillot-Broux which they managed together until 2008, when Jean-Gérard passed away. Pioneers of organic farming, which their forebears have been practicing in Burgundy since 1954, the Domain Guillot-Broux obtained organic farming certification in 1991.

The Domain Guillot-Broux vineyard covers 17 hectares in 3 Mâcon villages: Cruzille, Grévilly and Chardonnay. These parcels of Pinot Noir, Gamay and Chardonnay are used to produce a range of red and white wines under the Mâcon-Cruzille appellation.

"Offering lovely aromas of strawberry, cherry and orange peel, the 2018 Bourgogne Pinot Noir La Myotte is medium-bodied, elegant and fine, with a lovely core of bright fruit, powdery tannins and a long, mineral finish. Made from pinot noir vines planted in the 1960s, this late terroir has produced a serious, vibrant wine this year, and while only entitled to the regional appellation, it will more than reward some bottle age." Abandoned after the Phylloxera crisis, the domaine decided to replant the Geniévrières parcel in 1983 to produce a long-keeping white wine. A great terroir of the Mâcon region, the bathonian clay-limestone soils give all the minerality to this deep, precise wine, combining freshness and roundness with expressive notes of brioche, pear, almond, chalk and citrus. Superb! - Limited quantities available.

Although "Les Combettes" joins "Les Geniévrières", they produce totally different wines. It's a very mineral wine with toasty toasty overtones. Often richer in concentration than Geniévrières, this terroir needs time to express itself. express itself. Its more southerly orientation enables it to achieve greater ripeness.

The oldest vineyard on the estate, it was planted with an old chardonnay grape variety, known as "muscaté". These bring exotic exotic and spicy notes to the wine. The muscat character of the wine disappears with age, giving way to terroir with saline and chalky notes. Laying down : Longer to express itself, this wine deserves a few years of laying down (10-15 years).

A blend of several parcels from the estate and the trade, this Mâcon Villages cuvée by Maison Guillot-Broux is a continuation of the Mâcon-Villages. Here, Chardonnay expresses itself in the most beautiful way on clay-limestone soils: fresh, mineral and slightly lemony. A lovely white for pleasure!

"Geniévrières Pinot Noir is of great finesse, powdery, with fine, delicate, infused fruit; a delight to enjoy now." (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2020 - RVF) A difficult grape variety to tame on this terroir, it took several years to understand the vineyard and winemaking so that, at last, Les Geniévrières Pinot Noir could express itself beautifully, as here through delicate notes of red fruit, orange zest and rose petals. Powdery and delicate.
