Abandoned after the Phylloxera crisis, the domaine decided to replant the Geniévrières parcel in 1983 to produce a long-keeping white wine. A great terroir of the Mâcon region, the bathonian clay-limestone soils give all the minerality to this deep, precise wine, combining freshness and roundness with expressive notes of brioche, pear, almond, chalk and citrus. The oldest vineyard on the estate, it was planted with an old chardonnay grape variety, known as "muscaté". These bring exotic exotic and spicy notes to the wine. The muscat character of the wine disappears with age, giving way to terroir with saline and chalky notes.
