Château de Mercey
Château de Mercey was built in the 16th century, on the edge of the Côte de Beaune. It was owned by the Berger family for four generations until 1989, when it was bought by Maison Antonin Rodet. The estate extends over 48ha in the Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise regions.
Today owned by the Boisset group, the Château de Mercey estate produces five red appellations: Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune (22ha), Mercurey (9ha), Mercurey Premier Cru (1.75ha), Maranges Premier Cru (4.2ha), Santenay (1.15ha), and whites: Bourgogne Aligoté (1.6ha), Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Beaune (6.9ha) and Mercurey (1.33ha). Château de Mercey 's Hautes-Côtes de Beaune vines are particularly recognizable by their Lyre-shaped pruning.
Georges Piazzon, vineyard manager and cellar master, works with Anne-Laure Hernette, cellar master at Maison Rodet, to produce the wines of Château de Mercey.

Château de Mercey Maranges 1er Cru Les Clos Roussots 2012
2.7/5 (7 reviews)
With small yields due to the difficult climatic conditions of 2012, Château de Mercey has succeeded in producing a quality Maranges Premier Cru here. Lots of black fruit on the nose and palate, enhanced by smoky notes. In 2015, this wine stood out from nearly 900 others at the Burgondia 2015 competition.
