Sine Qua Non
ELaine and Manfred Krankl arrived in the USA from Austria in the 1980s. They worked a succession of odd jobs, while producing their own garage wine. In 1994, Robert Parker tasted their first vintage and gave them a score of 95/100, right from the start, Sine Qua Non becomes famous.

Sine Qua Non offers Rhône-style wines, with a vineyard predominantly planted with Syrah and Grenache, but also Petit Manseng, Touriga Nacional and Graciano, which they believe also represent the Rhône style.
Repeatedly awarded a 100/100 by Parker, Sine Qua Non is a temple of wine.

"Very limited quantities!"

"Finally, the utterly perfect Syrah Touche 2012 reminds me of a great vintage of Guigal's Cote Rotie La Landonne. [...] Deep, concentrated, full-bodied, with a multi-dimensional texture and notes of camphor, salted meats, violets, smoke and black fruits, this beauty has fine, perfectly ripe tannins and hit-or-miss length. Give it 3-4 years and drink it over the next two decades." (Wine Advocate 2018 - Taster). - Very limited quantities!
