Hortus Estate
Domaine de l'Hortus, at the crossroads of Pic Saint-Loup and Mont de l'Hortus, is located in the hills above Montpellier, in the Languedoc region. For over 25 years, Domaine de l'Hortus has been the pride of the Orliac family, led by Marie-Thérèse and Jean, who have made it one of the iconic estates of the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation, contributing greatly to the reputation of Pic Saint-Loup.

The Orliac family runs the Domaine de l'Hortus vineyard, 50 hectares of limestone scree where Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Grenache (for the reds), Chardonnay, Viognier, and Roussanne (for the whites) thrive in ideal northeast-facing conditions. They also manage Clos du Prieur, a 10-hectare enclave in the heart of the Buèges Valley.L'Hortus is a living estate, deeply rooted in its terroir and its time, favoring traditional harvesting and winemaking methods for the most part, with respect for nature, wine, and people.
