"A must-have for your wine cellar!"
Bergerie de l’Hortus is a powerful, intense red with aromas of ripe black fruit, licorice, and sweet spices. The attack is clean and well-balanced, with mellow tannins and a lovely spicy finish, delicately laced with licorice and hints of menthol.

Rated estate (2026 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
With one foot on Pic Saint-Loup and the other on the Coteaux du Languedoc appellation and the IGP, the Orliac family owns 80 hectares of vineyards in the garrigue, in the heart of the Hérault region. Jean intelligently oversees the estate's destiny despite the bereavements that have affected the family. With several ranges of wine spread across this wide palette of terroirs (Bergerie de l'Hortus, Clos du Prieur), the Orliac family strives to produce wines of great precision, particularly the fine and elegant reds. The style of the wines is evolving with an expensive cuvée, Le Dit de l'Hortus, which remains in line with the estate's tradition, while the other cuvées are evolving towards greater lightness so that they can be enjoyed sooner.
