Valflaunès Castle
After 10 years exploring the world of wine, with stints in the Rhone Valley, Burgundy and New Zealand, Fabien Reboul has settled in the center of the village of Valflaunès (25 km north of Montpellier) in 1998. He built a winery and tasting cellar facing Mont Hortus and Pic Saint Loup.

The Château de Valflaunès vineyard is located on thousand-year-old scree at the foot of the Château de Montferrand. The 13 hectares of vines are planted mainly with forty-year-old Grenache (5.4 ha) and Carignan (2.5 ha), as well as Syrah and other southern grape varieties.

Château de Valflaunès produces 8 cuvées in Vin de France, AOC Languedoc and AOC Pic Saint Loup, for an average output of around 45,000 bottles.

"Syrah and Grenache Noir are on the menu for this top-of-the-range cuvée, whose nose bears the hallmark of long barrel ageing (18 months). The fruit (red berries) and violets express themselves more freely in a palate of good volume, well structured by firm tannins and refreshed by a touch of eucalyptus on the finish. It should be left to digest its ageing". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2022). A red to be forgotten in the cellar for a few years, so that it can fully express itself...

ripe fruit

Espérance 2019 expresses ripe fruit aromas on the nose (raspberries, redcurrants, blackberries), with hints of garrigue and spicy touches (vanilla, pepper). The palate is silky, refined and smooth. This red is the perfect accompaniment to tuna tartare or grilled red meat... A generous, full-bodied cuvée!
