Eric Morgat

Eric Morgat has been based in Savennières for some twenty years now. Born into a family of winegrowers in Anjou for over two centuries, notably at Château du Breuil in Beaulieu sur Layon until 2006, Eric Morgat is now one of the region's leading figures.

AllEric Morgat 's plots have been selected from the best terroirs. Terroirs that are sometimes difficult to cultivate, but as Eric Morgat likes to say, "always hold great promise". The six hectares of vines are planted exclusively with Chenin, grown in certified organic conditions. Vinification is carried out in the traditional, very natural way, with each cuvée aged for 22 months in 400l barrels.

A rigorous perfectionist, Eric Morgat is one of the great names in Savennières, giving chenin an unsuspected expression. Eric Morgat wines are imbued with remarkable authenticity and precision.

Savennières Fidès comes from four different schist terroirs, and opens with dominant pear and citrus notes, accompanied by intense mineral touches, as well as dried fruit accents. The palate is round and unctuous, with a fine balance between sweetness and freshness, great mineral tension and great depth... A very authentic Savennières!

4/5 (2 reviews)

From soils composed of unaltered hard spilite (volcanic), on a great Coteaux du Layon terroir, Cuvée Litus reveals a complex, elegant nose, evoking notes of vine peach, pear, with lemony, mineral nuances. Beautiful pear and spice flavors on the palate, roundness and structure, with fine, elegant tannins... A beautifully crafted Anjou!
