"The solar character of the 2022 vintage has been brilliantly tamed in Vielles Vignes, reserved, dense, velvety and with refined power. The fresh Loire signature lifts the finish with precision. This wine, which promises more than fifteen years of cellaring, is our favorite this year". (Le Guide RVF 2025)

Wine rated (guide 2025) 93/100
Domaine rated (guide 2025) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)
About the domain :
More than ever a benchmark in the Loire, Domaine des Alliet - Claude, Philippe and their son Pierre - is dedicated to the cause of great Cabernet Franc wines. The new generation has moved away from heavy ageing, and the wines gain in refinement in their youth, while retaining great staying power over time. Coteau-de-Noiré, with its south-facing clay-limestone terroir, shines with ageing potential and nuanced intensity.

Rated (guide 2024) 93/100 (Wonderful wine)
About the wine:
Aromas of raspberry, licorice, blackcurrant and dark wild berries herald Chinon Vieilles Vignes 2022, a medium-bodied, enveloping, layered wine with a fine, seamless texture complemented by powdery tannins and a long, ethereal finish. This vintage is one of the most precise and pure expressions of Vieilles Vignes I've ever tasted. A big bravo!

Domaine rated (guide 2025) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :
The discreet Claude and Philippe Alliet were the creators of a new style in Chinon in the 1990s. Their cuvées Vieilles Vignes (gravel, vines 70 to 90 years old, 18 months in concrete vats), L'Huisserie (hilltop and flinty clay plateau) and especially Coteau de Noiré (steep, south-facing clay-limestone slope), seduced Cabernet Franc lovers with their dark color and incredible density. But there's no set recipe for Philippe Alliet, a fine taster and outstanding winemaker, supported by his son, Pierre, since 2005, who helps him shape ever deeper, more stylish wines. As of 2010, the Bordeaux barrels have been replaced by 500-liter barrels, and the proportion of new wood has been greatly reduced.
