Made from 45-year-old vines, this Gamay sur Granit is vinified in whole bunches in the Montbrison region, which is very rich in mica and has a high proportion of clay. On the nose, elegant aromas of crushed red fruit and flowers. On the palate, concentration, fresh juiciness, a cocktail of very authentic ripe fruit with a hint of blond tobacco. A cuvee of character with Burgundian accents!

Domain rated (guide 2024) Awarded wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Migmatite? A sheet of granite that makes the soil very rich. A richness that seems to have benefited this Gamay of good volume, well-structured, warm, full-bodied, unreservedly open to spices, candied fruit and a few animal touches.
About the domain :
Gilles Bonnefoy created his estate from scratch in 1997, planting vines from 2001 to 2016 and setting up the winery in 2004. Today, a 10.5-hectare biodynamic estate, set on the outskirts of 2 volcanoes: La Madone and Le Pigeonnier.

Domaine rated (2024 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
Les Vins de la Madone is one of the most exciting experiences in Côtes du Forez, a discreet appellation located between Saint-Étienne and Clermont-Ferrand, at the gateway to the Livradois-Forez natural park. Gilles Bonnefoy strives to capture the sparkling purity of fruit, both in his Gamay reds and in his whites (IGP d'Urfé), a Roussanne and a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Sauvignon Gris. This radiance, drawn from granite and volcanic soils, is achieved through biodynamic vineyard management (certified in 2008) and vinification partly in whole bunches, with ageing exclusively in vats. The star of this domaine is firmly set.
