La Bastide du Claux is an estate run by Sylvain Morey, originally from Chassagne-Montrachet, who moved to the Luberon after studying oenology in 1995. It is located in the heart of the Parc Naturel du Luberon, on sandy-clay soils laid out in terraces facing south-west in the commune of Ansouis, at the top of a north-east-facing slope at La Motte d'Aigues, and a gravelly hump at Cabrières d'Aigues.
The vineyards of la Bastide du Claux is fragmented and extends over some fifteen hectares. Offering a rich combination of soils, climates and exposures, this area requires the winegrower to highlight its particularities, respect its natural balances and keep the right gesture in mind.
The wines of la Bastide du Claux are complex, easily digestible and well-balanced. The whites are superb, undoubtedly the best in the appellation; the reds powerfully demonstrate all the beauty and intensity of these southern terroirs.

Bastide du Claux - Luberon Barraban 2014
Luberon|White wine
3/5 (10 reviews)
Grande réussite RVF
From this plot planted with 7 different white grape varieties, Barraban reveals aromas of white flowers and chalk. Tension and finesse characterize this cuvée. Its lemony finish adds extra freshness. A beautiful white Luberon!
