Patrick Lesec
Patrick Lesec is an unusual wine merchant. Originally from France, he fell into the wine business in the 1980s, when he opened a restaurant and import company in Santa Barbara, California. Convinced that many terroirs are under-exploited or even mistreated by modern oenological techniques, Patrick Lesec is turning to a return to its roots, which would enable it to produce great wines.

On his return to France, it was in Burgundy that he began a micro-negociant business, working with world-renowned winemakers. His work focuses on collaborating with winegrowers who possess great terroirs with great potential and who, for various reasons, neither vinify nor bottle their wines. Today, he is also expanding his activities in the Southern Rhône Valley and Languedoc.

"I always enjoy this Lesec cuvée, and this 2019 Châteauneuf du Pape Galets Blonds is apparently another great success. Pretty notes of red currant, blackberry, bouquet garni and candied violet give way to an elegant, medium to full-bodied Châteauneuf du Pape with a terrific sense of freshness, ripe but present tannins and a superb finish. Well worth seeking out." (Jeb Dunnuck 2020) A bargain!

"Mainly from the village of Sarrians, this 2016 Vacqueyras is a blend of 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, fermented with around 60% whole clusters. Powerful and supple, it reveals lush hints of blackberry and chocolate, delicious aromas, through dry spices on a long finish. Drink over the next 4-5 years." (Wine Advocate - Robert Parker 2018)
