Domaine Madeloc
In 2002, Rhône-Alpes winemaker Pierre Gaillard acquired a 29-hectare estate in the communes of Banyuls, Cerbère and Port-Vendres, in the heart of the Roussillon region. Domaine Madeloc. Here he finds a new opportunity to work on schist terroirs.

The Domaine Madeloc vineyard is planted with Grenache noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah and Carignan for the reds, and Grenache Blanc and Gris, Roussanne and Vermentino for the whites.

Domaine Madeloc produces around 60,000 bottles a year, divided between 11 Collioure and Banyuls cuvées: Trémadoc, Penya, Foranell, Serral, Magenca, Crestall, Asphodèles, Cirera, Terre-Mer, Robert Pagès and Solera.

"This Collioure demonstrates the expertise of Élise Gaillard, who collects stars with her cuvées, and wins a Favorite with this white, made from a blend of Grenache gris (60%), Vermentino and Roussanne. Each grape variety plays its own part. The vermentino lends its freshness and the other two varieties their richness to this golden wine, with its intense, complex nose of honey cake, broom, orange blossom, candied citrus and the toasty note of barrel. The palate takes over well, tonic and iodized, yet full-bodied and round (the legacy of Grenache), with lovely notes of honey, gingerbread and candied orange. The wood is mellow and well-integrated. An ample, generous wine of rare balance". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2017)
