Domaine de l'Edre
In 2002, Jacques Castany and Pascal Dieunidou changed career paths. They converted a garage into a winery and began their winegrowing adventure with great passion.
Their aim: to produce powerful, balanced, fruity wines. So it's on the terroir of Vingrau - with its clay-limestone and schist marl soils, ideal exposure to the sun and dry, healthy winds - that the two men cultivate the vines of Domaine de l'Edre.

Initially producing only red wines, Domaine de l'Edre made its first white Côtes du Roussillon in 2005. Since then, the entire range of Domaine de l'Edre wines has been very well received by French and foreign customers, as well as by the specialized press.

"A charming Côtes du Roussillon".

"A blend of 60% Syrah, 25% Grenache, 10% Carignan and 5% Mourvèdre and aged in second-fill barrels, the 2019 Côtes du Roussillon Villages Tautavel L'Edre is a little citron on the nose, but also hints at bay leaves, rose petals and cherry-scented fruit. Medium-bodied, it's more structured and tannic than the estate's Cuvée Carrement." (Wine Advocate 2021)

"Fruit and spice!"

Ripe fruit and spice aromas fill the mouth from the first sip. This is followed by notes of blackberry, blueberry and garrigue. The finish is perennial, with herbaceous fragrances adding a touch of freshness. This complex wine is a perfect match for many red meat dishes.

"A dapper Mourvèdre!"

"It's rare to find a deep, concentrated Mourvèdre that has only been aged for a short time in tank, but the 2021 IGP Côtes Catalanes Carrement Mourv'Edre is quite simply a beast. Mint, garrigue, blueberries and cherries appear on the nose, while the medium- to full-bodied palate is silky, fine and elegant. It may even improve a little with short cellaring." (Wine Advocate 2023)

A wine of finesse, revealing aromas of white flowers and fresh grass, Carrément Blanc is as seductive as ever! On the palate, notes of pineapple, mango and white pepper merrily mingle with a slightly tannic structure that lends persistence. To be savored!

Matured in vats, Syrah here reveals elegant black fruit, enhanced by peppery spices. The wine is true to its varietal and terroir, revealing a fresh palate structured by fine tannins. This Carrément Syrah is downright good!
