Domaine du Bois de Pourquié
Originally cathedral builders, the Mayet family moved to the South West of France around 1830. They set up the Domaine du Bois de Pourquiéon a small area of land between the Dordogne river and the Monbazillac hillsides. Originally, in 1852, the estate was cultivated on a mixed farming basis, with vines remaining marginal. It was only after the Second World War that the vineyard really took off, thanks in particular to the modernization of production.
By 1971, the vineyard had grown to 15 hectares and the first bottles were sold.

Today, Marlène and Alain Mayet run the 30-hectare Domaine du Bois de Pourquié - 17 hectares of red and 13 hectares of white.

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette

"Clean, bright and slightly golden, the color of this half-sauvignon gris, half-sémillon cuvée is particularly meticulous. The nose is not to be outdone, with powerful yet delicate scents of white fruit (pear) and ripe exotic fruit. These equally intense aromas are echoed on the round, smooth palate, well-balanced by a fine freshness on the finish. A harmonious wine from start to finish". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2016)
