"Elegant smoky touch, pretty notes of yellow flowers, then fresh banana, on the palate the signature of the terroir is evident with that rubbed match note, it tastes totally dry (2 g!) which makes tasting even more immediate, the balance is splendid thanks to a rare unctuosity in the touch, finish carried by bitters and a roasted toasted note. A great wine" (Bettane+Desseauve)
Domaine Zind-Humbrecht Alsace Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Sélection de Grains Nobles 2005 (37.5 cl)

95/100 Robert Parker
"The Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal Selection de Grains Nobles 2005 can only be described as "out of the ordinary" [...] Aromas of tea, honey, apricot jam and fresh lemon assault you right from the glass. On the palate, it's almost gelatinous, but with a citric intensity and concentration worthy of a laser. [...] Count on a more bearable concentration in 15 to 20 years, and on the fact that it will outlive anyone reading this note today." (Wine Advocate 2008)

94/100 Wine Spectator
"Clos Windsbuhl is perhaps even more revealing of the advantages of a cool, windy, chalky site in a vintage where extremely high must weights were the price to pay for a truly full-flavored Gewurztraminer. Smoked meats, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, lychee, pineapple and the decadent scent of rose and lily combine to create a seductive aroma and a lush, creamy, multi-faceted palate. Not only is the fresh fruit surprisingly juicy on the finish, but the wine also has surprising buoyancy for a wine grading close to 14% alcohol, and a hint of salinity stimulates the salivary glands while perfectly complementing the liquid florality and aura of caramelization that also emerge. There's even a suggestion of chalk and stone to fuse this grandiose tribute to its site, grape variety and producer. The more it's exposed to the air, the more it reveals its charm." (Wine Advocate 2014)
Zind-Humbrecht - Riesling Roche Calcaire blanc 2022

Cuvée Roche Calcaire in Riesling is a marathon white that needs patience to reveal itself. Sprinters will savor its citrus aromas and full, saline mouthfeel after decanting. The most patient will delight in a racy, intense Riesling. All will appreciate an intense, persistent and easily digestible wine!
Zind-Humbrecht - Alsace Riesling Grand Cru Wineck-Schlossberg blanc 2022

"This dry Riesling is utterly fascinating and exhilaratingly mineral. A broad spectrum of citrus and stone fruit aromas and flavors wash over you in a big wave on the very concentrated and focused palate. A sensational finish of crushed stone that just won't quit. From five small parcels of vines over 50 years old in this beautiful but underrated site." (James Suckling 2024)

"Stunning citrus, generous body and excellent concentration with vibrant acidity make this a very expressive and attractive dry Riesling, which does everything people expect from Sancerre that it doesn't always do. Long, invigorating finish. (James Suckling 2023). A fine cuvée to discover the world of Olivier Humbrecht!
Domaine Zind-Humbrecht - Alsace Pinot Gris Clos Jebsal - Vendange Tardive 2015
95/100 James Suckling
-
95/100 Wine Enthusiast
-
94+/100 Robert Parker
"The nose is still closed and gives little away. The palate is voluptuous, but tightly corseted: everything is present, but still tightly restrained. The peach fruit has a serene, easy sweetness that is perfectly counterbalanced by the freshness of the orange and Meyer lemon. This wine is balanced and sweet, but counterbalanced and cut by immense freshness. The aromas have yet to fully unfold. Blood orange and peach are promising. It's the fluid, balanced texture of this late harvest that stands out, along with its supreme purity." (Wine Enthusiast 2017)

A cuvée with a volcanic nose, releasing notes of flint and wet stones. On the palate, its great minerality offers elegance and delicacy. A complex palette of smoky, spicy and herbal aromas, with a dry, saline finish. Impressive length, without heaviness. Like most 2021s, it will need time to fully develop and attain a fruitier aromatic expression. Elegant and intense Rangen, carrying the energy of this terroir!
Zind-Humbrecht - Alsace GC Gewurztraminer Rangen de Thann Clos Saint Urbain 2020
5/5 (1 review)
98/100 Bettane & Desseauve
-
97/100 RVF
-
97/100 James Suckling
"A dry, powerful balance, with plenty of substance on the palate to explain its fat, almost oily texture, and a long, persistent, spicy finish" (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve). (Le Guide Bettane + Desseauve) - "Another very singular wine, this Gewurztraminer du Rangen, endowed with impressive depth of flavor, perfectly dry and stamped with the seal of terroir: its marker of pumice and smoke makes it inimitable and glorious." (Le Guide RVF 2023). All the nobility of a Grand Cru!
Zind-Humbrecht - Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Hengst 2019
97/100 James Suckling
-
97/100 RVF
"There's nothing obvious about this intensely spicy Gewurz. Indeed, studying its aromas is like solving a complex puzzle. It's very powerful and creamy, with a succulent tropical fruit character, the bold minerality balancing the touch of sweetness. The palate is no less intriguing, thanks to fresh depths that reveal themselves more and more on the highly refined finish. Made from biodynamically grown grapes. To drink or to keep. (James Suckling 2021). What class!
