Jancis Robinson

"Hunter Valley Semillon is Australia's superb gift to the world of wine..." (Jancis Robinson, MW). (Jancis Robinson, MW) A wine for ageing par excellence, Sémillon reveals intense, elegant citrus aromas in its youth. Over time, it develops softer aromas of honey, toast and vanilla. Known to age for over 20 years, it will reach its peak after just a decade. A wonderful discovery!

About the wine:

Pale gold with green highlights. Very straightforward, refreshing and somewhat mineral on the nose. Super juicy and succulent. Powerful acidity and more than a hint of lemon juice. Very racy finish. Very young but loaded with flavors despite its low alcohol content. Should become even more structured with age.

I bought it because my wife's name is Elisabeth. If your wife's name is Simone, you'll be luckier than me!
