Château Martinat
Château Martinat is located in the commune of Lansac, in the heart of the Côtes de Bourg appellation, in the rolling hills of the Bordeaux region, not far from the Gironde river. The Gironde has a definite influence on the region's mild climate and sunshine. Château Martinat covers 10 hectares on a special terroir, characterized by veins of small gravels and red and brown clays; a precious quality asset for grape ripeness and wine density. Château Martinat 's vines are on average 40 years old, and are planted predominantly with Merlot (70%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), and 10% Malbec (the historic grape variety).

Château Martinat 's vineyards are managed manually and naturally, with de-budding, leaf-thinning, green harvesting and manual harvesting for the grapes. This work is carried out with care, with the aim of creating a quality vintage every year.

Château Martinat 2013

14,5/20 Gault & Millau

This cuvée is characterized on the nose by citrus and exotic fruit aromas, accompanied by a lovely freshness on the palate. The astonishing richness of Sauvignon Gris comes through on the finish... Enjoy this white with seafood or grilled fish, for example...

"Stéphane Donze is not looking for power in this medium-bodied wine. Well-spiced, it retains a pleasant, flowing fruitiness without any roughness. At its best." (Le Guide des bonnes affaires du vin 2015 - Gerbelle & Maurange). A Côtes de Bourg with ripe, silky tannins and woody notes that subtly blend into an elegant, powerful body... A beautiful bottle!
