Château La Mothe du Barry, located in Moulon, is run by Joël Duffau, who also owns Château Les Arromans. This passionate and talented winegrower is committed to producing wines of the highest quality.

The vineyards of Château La Mothe du Barry are mainly located on the magnificent clay-limestone slopes of the commune, a promised land for Merlot. From his studies and internships in various wine-growing regions in France and abroad (Burgundy, Beaujolais, Rioja, California), Joël Duffau has retained an openness to others, an insatiable desire for discovery, and a constant questioning of himself.
Vintage after vintage, he has developed vine cultivation and winemaking techniques to produce wines with great personality that have made his reputation, such as the Cuvée Le Barry, which is mentioned every year in numerous guides.

The other vintages of Château La Mothe du Barry are equally renowned for their high quality, such as its Entre-Deux-Mers, produced from vines in the commune of Naujean et Postiac, a boulbène soil predestined for white wines. It was out of a passion for this terroir, so typical of Entre-Deux-Mers, and a desire to return to fairer values that Joël Duffau began the conversion to organic farming.
