Château Bourseau
The ancient vineyards of Château Bourseau is known as one of Lalande de Pomerol's finest, situated on a gravelly hillside similar to that of Pomerol. Its 10 hectares, with an average age of 45 years, are planted with 75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc. The terroir is predominantly gravelly, with some plots on clay-gravel.
The vineyards of Château Bourseau are cultivated in a spirit of respect for the ecosystem and the terroir. Vinification and ageing are carried out with the utmost care, combining tradition with modern techniques. The old winery, dating from 1960, was completely renovated in 2002. Vinification takes place in small-volume stainless steel vats, allowing parcel-by-parcel selections. The wine is aged in oak barrels, one-third of which are renewed each year.

Château Bourseau 2010
4/5 (3 reviews)
1*Étoile Hachette
"Young, intense color; no less intense, harmonious bouquet blending stewed fruit, menthol and cocoa nuances; full, rich, dense palate, elegantly oaky and solidly structured, even a little austere on the finish: everything points to a very nice wine in three to five years' time." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2014)
Château La Croix de Bourseau 2011 - Vieilles vignes
Cité Hachette
"A wine of good concentration inherited from old vines, which immediately reveals a deep bouquet of ripe grapes underlined by melted oak. The palate, in unison, is fleshy, suave and powerful. Still harsh on the finish, it will benefit from ageing". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)
Château Bourseau 2009

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette
Note du Guide Hachette des Vins: 2**(Remarkable wine) + Coup de Coeur
"A blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc (40%), this wine has everything to please: a dense, almost black color; a very rich aromatic palette, where we first breathe in fresh black fruit (blueberry), then candied, accompanied by a spicy, woody aroma. On the palate, the wine is round and full-bodied, without any heaviness, with aromas of ripe grapes. Elegant tannins complete the picture of a remarkably well-balanced bottle, which can be served young, by decanting, or enjoyed over 15 years. We can imagine it with roast pheasant". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2013)
