"A delicious, indulgent wine and excellent value for money for this appellation! ~ Decanter"

Fresh flowers, damp earth, spices, tobacco, and sweet red fruits are omnipresent. Elegant, delicate, and refined on the palate, this wine is simply a pleasure to taste with all its purity and resonant silky textures. The finish, with its dark chocolate, plums, boysenberries, and espresso, is a treat as it lingers and blossoms on your palate. Give it a few years in the bottle and it will be truly great. Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more consistent and uniform than the previous one)

About the estate:

Following the reorganization of the Perrodo family's Margaux properties, Labégorce-Zédé joined Château Labégorce to form a single entity. Marjolaine de Coninck has been managing the properties since 2010. The wines produced still have their strong identity, but today they are more modern, refined, and elegant.

Decanter

Decanter

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100

About wine:

The largest of the Perrodo estates in Margaux, it is slightly heavier and more muscular than the Marquis d'Alesme, but extremely well accomplished. It is characterized by aromas of coffee beans and tobacco, as well as notes of blackcurrant. Pleasant even if it is a little less characteristic of Margaux than its sibling, it is a delicious, indulgent wine and excellent value for money within the appellation. 2025–2040

Guide Hachette des vins

Rated estate (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

A beautiful neoclassical building standing in the middle of its vineyard, on the outskirts of Margaux and heading towards Pauillac, this estate has benefited from significant investment since its purchase by the Perrodo family in 1989, who also own Ch. Marquis d'Alesme. The 2009 merger with Ch. Labégorce Zédé enabled it to regain its original vineyard (70 hectares), as it was before the 1794 division. Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took over the family estates in 2006, following the death of her father Hubert.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

The Perrodo family, owners of the Labégorce, Labégorce-Zédé, and Marquis d'Alesme châteaux, decided to unite the two wines under the name Labégorce. The vineyard was reorganized and every effort was made to make this brand one of the benchmarks for unclassified Margaux wines. The older vintages, sold under the name Labégorce-Zédé, are generally of a very high standard.

Vinous

Vinous

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Labégorce 2019 was the first vintage vinified in the new vat room and also the first to use Cabernet Franc from the northern part of the appellation, on more calcareous soils, a mass selection from an organic producer in the south of France. Aged in 40% new oak, this wine has a full and rich bouquet. A blend of red and black fruits, cedar, and perhaps more rose petal than violet at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, very well balanced, and a little spicier than I found in barrel, leading to a precise and taut finish. 2024-2045

About wine:

Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, espresso, orange chocolate, and damp earth. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Rich and creamy with generous notes of ripe berries and chocolate. Notes of nuts and earth on the finish. Drink from 2024 onwards.

Le Figaro wines

Le Figaro vins

Wine rated (2022 guide) 92/100

About wine:

Its rich and expressive nose is seductive with notes of mocha, toast, and black fruits. The palate is full-bodied, with a dense and grainy texture. The wine, which is rather massive at this stage, blossoms with fresh and tangy notes.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92-93/100

About wine:

Dense garnet red with purple highlights. A little more Cabernet than usual because, for the first time, the mass selection of Cabernet Franc is included in the grand vin. An inviting bouquet marked by notes of blackcurrant and raspberry, as well as a touch of aging. A delicious, inviting attack. The wine is juicy, smooth and endowed with fine-grained tannins. They are velvety and in perfect harmony with the structure. A wine that combines charm and freshness. 2024-2039
