"A delicious, gourmet wine, and an excellent value for the appellation! ~ Decanter "
"Fresh flowers, damp earth, spices, tobacco cape and sweet red fruits are omnipresent. Elegant, delicate and refined on the palate, this wine is simply a pleasure to taste with all its purity and silky, resonant textures. The finish, with its dark chocolate, plums, boysenberries and espresso, is a delight as it lingers and blossoms on your palate. Give it a few years in bottle and it will be truly great." Château Labégorce
Margaux
Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Rated domain (2022 guide) 2*Stars (A serious and recommendable production, but a little more regular and homogeneous than the previous one)
About the domain :
Following the reorganization of the Perrodo family's Margalais properties, Labégorce-Zédé joined Château Labégorce to become one. Marjolaine de Coninck has been managing the properties since 2010. The wines produced still have their strong identity, but now with more modernity, finesse and elegance.

Vin noté (guide 2020) 92/100
About the wine :
The largest of the Perrodo estates in Margaux, it's a little heavier and more muscular than the Marquis d'Alesme, but extremely well accomplished. It is characterized by aromas of coffee beans, tobacco and blackcurrant. Pleasant even if a little less Margaux-like than its brother, this is a delicious, gourmet wine, and an excellent value for the appellation's money. 2025 - 2040
Guide Hachette des vins
Rated domain (2021 guide) Award-winning wines (Wines from this producer regularly win awards in the guide)
About the domain :
A handsome neoclassical edifice standing in the midst of its vineyards, on the outskirts of Margaux and heading towards Pauillac, this cru has benefited from significant investment since its purchase by the Perrodo family in 1989, who also own Ch. Marquis d'Alesme. The 2009 merger with Ch. Labégorce Zédé restored its original vineyard (70 ha), which predates the 1794 partition. Nathalie Perrodo-Samani took over the family estates in 2006, following the death of her father Hubert.

Rated domain (2022 guide) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winegrowers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the domain :
The Perrodo family, owners of Châteaux Labégorce, Labégorce-Zédé and Marquis d'Alesme, have decided to unite the two crus under the name Labégorce. The parcels have been reorganized, and every effort is being made to make this brand one of the benchmarks for Margaux's unclassified growths. Old vintages, sold under the Labégorce-Zédé name, are generally of a very high standard.

Vin noté (guide 2021) 94/100
About the wine :
Labégorce 2019 was the first vintage vinified in the new vat room, and also the first to use Cabernet Franc from the northern part of the appellation, on more chalky soils, a massal selection from an organic producer in the South of France. Aged in 40% new oak, this wine has a full, rich bouquet. A mix of red and black fruits, cedar and perhaps more rose petal than violet at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, very well balanced, and a little spicier than I found in barrel, leading to a precise, taut finish. 2024-2045

About the wine :
Aromas of blackberries, blueberries, plums, espresso, orange chocolate and damp earth. Medium-bodied with fine tannins. Rich and creamy, with generous notes of ripe berries and chocolate. Notes of walnut and earth on the finish. Drink from 2024.
Le Figaro vins
Vin noté (guide 2022) 92/100
About the wine :
Its rich, expressive nose is seductive, with notes of mocha, toast and black fruit. The palate is full-bodied, with a dense, grainy texture. The wine is rather massive at this stage, blossoming on fresh, acid notes.
Yves Beck
Vin noté (guide 2020) 92-93/100
About the wine :
Dense garnet-red with purple highlights. A little more Cabernet than usual, as for the first time the Cabernet Franc massal selection is included in the grand vin. Inviting bouquet marked by notes of blackcurrant and raspberry and a touch of ageing. Inviting, fruity attack. The wine is juicy, suave and endowed with fine-grained tannins. They are velvety and in perfect symbiosis with the structure. A wine that reconciles charm and freshness. 2024-2039
