Château La Couronne

Château La Couronne is owned by Thomas Thiou, a self-taught wine enthusiast who bought it in 1994. At the time, it was a small family estate located at the top of the southern slope facing the village of Saint-Emilion. Château La Couronne benefits from the expert advice of oenologist Jean-Philippe Fort.
The Château La Couronne vineyard comprises 11 hectares of vines managed according to sustainable principles. Green harvesting is carried out by a team of seasonal workers trained by the estate. This team then supervises the grape-pickers who sort the harvest in the vineyard. Château La Couronne wines are made in the traditional way, to produce deep, complex wines.

2*Coup de Coeur Hachette
"The fruit of cellar work (long vatting, micro-oxygenation) aimed at thorough extraction, this beautifully dark purple wine is intense from the moment it is smelled, with a strong presence of red and black fruits (raspberry, blackcurrant, blackberry) against a discreet woody background. A full, compact attack, carried by firm, tight tannins, is followed by a softer, more supple mid-palate, the signature of a Merlot that has reached a fine degree of maturity". (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2015)
