"Seductive nose, blackcurrant scented with violet— fruity and floral. Excellent core, juicy and vibrant. It has a pleasant character, quite bright in the glass but still with depth, emphasizing black fruits and licorice spices. I like the framing and overall balance. The blue fruits, refreshing elements andfresh acidity of the whole keep it quite lively with just a touch of austerity appearing towards the finish." (Decanter 2022)

Wine rated (2020 guide) 92/100

3-star rating (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)

About wine:

The fine tannins, enveloped by well-formed flesh, are woven into a concentrated body with a fresh finish that completely won us over during the second tasting of this vintage.

About the estate:

The Janoueix family, one of the great wine families of the right bank, has always had an eye for the great wines of Pomerol. First and foremost, we must celebrate Marie-Antoinette Janoueix: in 1999, she had the excellent intuition to isolate four hectares of gravel located in the heart of the clay plateau that was part of Château-la-Croix. These high-quality plots are neighbors to the prestigious Le Pin, Vieux Château Certan, and Petit Village. Her daughter Marie-Jo Chabut has skillfully taken over the property and entrusted technical responsibility to her nephew, the talented Jean-Philippe Janoueix, who brings greater precision to the mid-palate and finish. We appreciate the dense and voluptuous attack that lingers with smoothness and energy, while the truffle-filled finish adds nobility to the whole.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100

About wine:

From the outset, La Croix St Georges presents itself as an inviting and seductive wine. The bouquet alternates between fruity, spicy, and woody notes. The smoothness on the palate only serves to highlight the charm of Pomerol, while the tannins provide power.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94/100

About wine:

Deeply colored, the wine offers black and blue fruits, plum, cherry, smoke, licorice, and a hint of truffle on the nose. Silky, fresh, and energetic, with lush textures, ripe tannins, sweet fruit, and cocoa on the palate.
