Château La Violette

Château La Violette
Château La Violette is one of the estates owned by Catherine Péré-Vergé. Established in Pomerol since 1985, Catherine Péré-Vergé was able to demonstrate her energy and motivation by undertaking a vast investment program for her Château Montviel estate. From this base in the appellation, Vignobles Péré-Vergé quickly demonstrated their ambition to take over one of Pomerol's leading vineyards, eventually choosing the prestigious Château Le Gay, next door to Petrus...

In 2005, Catherine Péré-Vergé became the owner of Château La Violette, a jewel of the Pomerol plateau with a subsoil of iron dross, the "Saint of Saints" according to oenologist Michel Rolland. Extending over 3.25 hectares, Château La Violette takes its name from an original and exquisite perfume of violets, which has always seduced the most discerning palates...

Situated on the heights of the famous Pomerol plateau between Trotanoy and Le Pin, the vineyard is made up of 40-year-old vines. Château La Violette wines are made exclusively from Merlot, which gives finesse, body and fruit. Catherine Péré-Vergé has always called on her friend Michel Rolland for the vinification of her wines.

RVF 18,5/20, Bettane & Desseauve 18/20, Robert Parker 92/100
"Right from its first vintage, 2006, this wine establishes its personality: richly aromatic, with a perfume of violets that is indeed very present, opulent and savory, endowed with fine tannins". (Grand guide des vins de France - Bettane & Desseauve)
