Château L'Armont
Owned by Jean-Philippe Caille alongside the renowned Château l’Arrosée from 2002 to 2013, Château L’Armontis located on the southern slope of the Saint-Emilion hillside, at the foot of the hill.
Resting on sandy-loam soil with a clay subsoil, its 3.80 hectares of Grand Cru-classified vines give Château L'Armont wines their suppleness, structure, and elegance. The grape varieties at Château L'Armont are very characteristic of the appellation (75% Merlot and 25% Cabernet Franc) and express the quintessence of the terroir: the fleshy fruitiness of Merlot blends perfectly with the smokiness of the more structured Cabernet.
The 40-year-old vines are cultivated using sustainable methods, with yields limited to 35-40 hl/ha. The aim is to achieve the best possible ripeness, so a rigorous selection of plots is carried out at the time of vinification. Château L'Armont expresses all the exceptional qualities of the Bordeaux terroir.
