Château Pavie Macquin
Pavie Macquin is the fruit of a passion, that of engineer Albert Macquin who, in 1887, brought together four properties to create this prestigious 26-hectare vineyard. The current owners of Château Pavie Macquin are his grandchildren. Deeply attached to this Saint-Emilion terroir, they appointed Nicolas Thienpont as estate manager, assisted by Stéphane Derenoncourt, who had been with the estate since 1990. Together, they developed high-quality viticulture practices that earned Château Pavie Macquin the prestigious Premier Grand Cru Classé ranking.

Located on a limestone plateau with heavy clay soil, the Pavie Macquin vineyard is a single block. It is adjacent to Troplong Mondot, Pavie, and Trottevieille, three other Premiers Grands Crus Classés. This terroir is particularly suited to the production of a great Merlot, combining power and mineral tension. Château Pavie Macquin also has Cabernet Franc from mass selection carried out in-house, and 2% old Cabernet Sauvignon.
