Château Haut-Bergeron
4.2/5See the 11 reviews
Château Haut-Bergeron is owned by the Lamothe family, one of the oldest in Sauternes. The family's heritage and know-how have been passed down for five generations. A neighbor of Château Yquem, Château Haut-Bergeron is located in Preignac, with vineyards in the communes of Sauternes, Barsac and Bommes.
Today, 17 hectares of vines make up the Château Haut-Bergeron vineyard, planted on a predominantly clay-gravel terroir with southern exposure. The soil is worked regularly and carefully, with aeration and a reasoned approach to soil improvement, using only organic matter. Château Haut-Bergeron wines are vinified in the traditional, meticulous way, and great care is taken in mastering the ageing process.
Château Haut-Bergeron wines can be drunk yellow with fruit, or more mature, and can accompany a wide range of dishes, including foie gras.

"Tradition is good, and it's rewarded once again here with this classic Sauternes, whose Favorite echoes those obtained on the 2011 and 2013 vintages. The nose exhales greedy candied and honeyed notes that find an intense extension in a broad, rich, warm, powerful palate, with an assertive liquorice character and a long, savory finish. Definitely character and potential". (Guide Hachette - Edition 2024)
