Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey
4.4/5See all 52 reviews
Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey is a 36-hectare wine estate in the heart of the Sauternes region, high above the village of Bommes.
Owned by Swiss businessman Silvio Denz, who also owns Château Faugères in Saint-Émilion, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey produces great classic Sauternes from very rich harvests, selecting the first wine with great care. Now recognized for its consistent quality, and a neighbor of Sigalas-Rabaud, Château Lafaurie-Peyraguey enjoys a reputation and is distinguished by a great richness due to its terroir. The grapes are naturally harvested in successive batches; pressing is carried out on old vertical presses, and the wine is aged for thirty months in barrels (in batches corresponding to the harvest dates), one third of which is new wood.

"Intense golden yellow. Intense bouquet, marked by freshness but also by mature notes. Exotic fruits, saffron, currants and quince. Creamy, delicate, fruity and racy on the palate. Beautiful aromatic expression with crème brûlée, caramel and nougat. Persistent finish. A superb, surprisingly fresh wine." (Yves Beck 2018) - Delivery in wooden case possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected) - An exceptional vintage that is the majority with our customers!
