Jean-Claude Boisset

Jean-Claude Boisset set up his small Maison de Vin next to Gevrey-Chambertin in the early 1960s. He settled in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, in a former Ursuline convent. The spirit of the house can be summed up in three words: origin, purity, elegance.

Grégory Patriat joined the company and in 2002 became the "viniculturist" for Jean-Claude Boisset. He reconciles the art of winemaking and the art of cultivation, the link between the wine and the vine, the one through whom the wine is born. Grégory has the great luxury of being able to choose his grapes. He works in symbiosis with "his" winemakers, the very ones who accept his drastic selection conditions and inordinate demands. In the vineyard, the demands are very precise: control of yields, disbudding, green harvesting, organic culture of influence.

Jean-Claude Boisset produces authentic wines, where man's hand is as discreet as possible; the wines are concentrated, round and, of course, express their terroir. Man steps aside, the earth does the talking.
