"An explosion of aromas from this perfectly balanced Chardonnay!

Abandoned for many years, it was the monks of Cîteaux Abbey, renowned for their quality of work and knowledge of the terroirs, who developed the Burgundy vineyards. Discover this well-balanced, dense Chardonnay with aromatic persistence that is quite exceptional for a white Burgundy.

Bettane & Desseauve

Bettane & Desseauve

Domaine rated (2020 guide) 4*Stars (Very high quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

With 120 hectares, including 70 in the Côte Chalonnaise region, and one of Burgundy's finest wineries in Nuits-Saint-Georges, as well as recent expansions such as the lease of Domaine Zibetti and the takeover of Domaine Dupont-Tisserand and Domaine Billaud-Simon, Faiveley is becoming more than ever an essential ambassador for great Burgundy wines around the world. And we're delighted that this has not been achieved at the expense of quality and style at all levels of appellation and price. Reflection on the work in the vineyard is bearing fruit, and the house's wines play on the straightforwardness and precision of expression of each cuvée, in white as in red. The 2017 range is once again successful and coherent.

Domaine noté (guide 2022) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)

About the domain :

Founded in Nuits-Saint-Georges in 1825, this estate has been a household name in Burgundy for 7 generations. Erwan Faiveley, who succeeded his father François, has been at the helm since 2005. Today, it is one of the largest vineyard owners in Burgundy: 120 ha from the north of the Côte de Nuits to the south of the Côte Chalonnaise, including 10 ha in grand cru and nearly 25 ha in 1ercru.

Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with a good level of production, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the domain :

Aided by his technical director Jérôme Flous, Erwan Faiveley took over from his father at the beginning of 2005, and since then has been quietly revolutionizing this vast estate with its exceptional vineyard heritage, which has expanded in recent years. The style of the wines has subtly evolved: solidly built around a dense, less austere body than in the past, they assert a frank fruitiness with a more precocious expression. If the woody notes were once a little green, they now take on toasty flavors. In recent vintages, however, the grapes have tended to integrate better. The wines as a whole, particularly the reds, have made considerable progress. A spectacular new vat room was used for the first time for the 2018 harvest. This estate has progressed its wines with precision and intelligence.
