Expert opinion
Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
We've been following this domaine for some time now, and are delighted with the seriousness and steady progress of Charly Nicolle. Exploiting the terroirs of Fleys, including the two premiers crus Les Fourneaux and the easternmost part of Mont de Milieu, he extracts a short range with great density on the palate, bringing out the minerality of each cru. A sure bet for the sector.

Rated area (2023 guide) Recommended
About the wine:
The palate is very warm, with depth and concentration of fruit. An intriguing hint of white pepper and lively acidity on the finish. A very attractive, high-class example of this lesser-known Premier Cru. From vines planted between 1965 and 1975. Charly Nicolle runs this exciting estate in Fleys, and is a dynamic young Chablis producer to watch.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine rated (Guide 2025) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
Domaine noté (guide 2024) Award-winning wines (The wines of this producer are regularly awarded by the guide)
About the wine:
Old vines and a slightly longer ageing period for this well-balanced cuvée. Freshness is a constant between the nose and the palate, with a pleasant finish on lemony notes.
About the domain :
Charly Nicolle's great-grandparents already cultivated vines. Following in the footsteps of previous generations, the young winemaker set off on his own adventure. Settled in Fleys, to the east of Chablis, he created his own domaine in 2011, nurturing his 17 ha of Chardonnay, and has established himself as an established name in Chablis. He also runs the family domaine of La Mandelière.
