Vinedos y Bodegas Pablo
Viñedos y Bodegas Pablo is a family estate located in the municipality of Almonacid de la Sierra (Zaragoza). In 1995, José Pablo Casao and his sisters acquired an old estate dating from the 1940s, and renovated it, introducing the latest winemaking technologies with the aim of transmitting the expression of terroir to wines made from indigenous grape varieties.

The vineyards of Bodegas Pablo are located at the foot of the Sierra de Algairén, between 550 and 750 m altitude. The soils are composed mainly of crushed "licorelle" slate, with sandy and stony areas. The average age of the vines is 30 years. The oldest vines are one hundred years old. The climate around the vineyards undergoes wide temperature variations between day and night in summer, allowing several quality factors to flourish: ripeness, acidity, etc.

The pride of Bodegas Pablo is unquestionably the richness of its terroir.

90/100 Robert Parker

"Menguante Garnacha Seleccion 2012 comes from old vines planted on chalk-rich soils with a 10% slope. The wine is aged for 8 months in French oak barrels. The nose is elegant, with aromas of red berries, hints of smoke and spice, aromatic Mediterranean herbs (thyme, rosemary) and a floral touch that adds elegance and complexity. Medium-bodied and harmonious on the palate, with pleasantly round tannins and moderate acidity. Very good value for money. " (Wine Advocate 2014 - Robert Parker)
